Sri Lankan Attraction Peradeniya Botanical Garden

Peradeniya Botanical Garden

The Peradeniya Botanical Garden is a well-known botanical garden in Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is one of Asia's largest and most magnificent botanical gardens, covering around 147 acres (59.5 hectares). Here are some facts about the Peradeniya Botanical Garden.  The British colonial authority constructed the park as a royal leisure garden in 1821. It was first employed to produce medicinal plants, but its scope grew over time to cover a wide range of plant species.

The garden has a remarkable plant collection, with over 4,000 species. The orchid house, palm avenue, spice garden, fernery, and bamboo collection are among the themed parts open to visitors. There are other categories for therapeutic plants and indigenous species.
