Adam's Peak, or colloquially Sri Pada, is Sri Lanka's most sacred and symbolic mountain, at 2,243 meters high within the central highlands. It is renowned for the holy "Sri Pada" or "sacred footprint" on its summit, which is revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. Pilgrims and trekkers climb the peak via established trails, generally early to witness a never-to-be-forgotten sunrise above the clouds. Along the path, visitors walk through serene forests, waterfalls, and countryside villages, so that the journey is as enchanting as standing on top. Adam's Peak combines religion, landscape, and adventure into one experience.
