Anuradhapura Ancient Town

Anuradhapura is a city in Sri Lanka. This city was the first capital of Sri Lanka. Anuradhapura has two and a half million years of history. You can see the ancient stupa (a dome-shaped Buddhist shrine) and the ruins of the old monasteries and palaces. There are many amazing things to see, like the holy Bodhi trees where Buddha attained enlightenment, incredible stone carvings/sculptures, and beautiful meditation areas. You will also get to know the stories of Kings and Monks who created the legends about this wonderful city that is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
