In Sri Lanka, still fishing, sometimes known as angling or leisure fishing, is a popular pastime. The country's extensive coastline, inland water areas, and diverse marine life give excellent possibilities for anglers.
The coastal regions of Sri Lanka provide good prospects for still fishing. You may target a number of saltwater fish species from the coastlines, rocks, or jetties. Groupers, snappers, barracuda, trevally, and numerous reef fish are regular catches. Negombo, Mirissa, Hikkaduwa, and Trincomalee are all popular coastline fishing destinations.
Sri Lanka has several lakes, reservoirs, and rivers that are suitable for still fishing. These inland bodies of water are home to a wide variety of freshwater fish species, such as tilapia, catfish, carp, and snakehead fish.
