Situated in Chunnakam, Jaffna District, Kadurugoda Viharaya is an ancient Buddhist temple. According to the folklore, in the 16th century, 60 monks who were on their way to India to avoid the harassments of Indian invader Snagili had died due to a food poisoning of a mushroom curry served by the locals. The stupas of the temple have built enshrining the relics of those 60 Arhath Bhikkus.
