Kaudulla National Park

Situated in Polonnaruwa, Kaudualla national park is a paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Being a vibrant biodiversity hotspot in the island, Kaudulla National Park was declared as the 15th national park in Sri Lanka in 2002. The park spreads across 197 kilometres and is home to various species of plants and animals. Kaudulla reservoir is one of the 16 lakes constructed by King Mahasen. The park is also known for its birdlife. Many endemic and migrant birds visits and residence in the park attracting many bird watchers. Sri Lankan sambar deer, Sri Lankan axis deer, Sri Lankan leopard chevrotain, and wild boar, are few of animals you can witness during a safari ride in the park.
