Kushta Raja Gala is an ancient site situated in Weligama where you can see amazing ruins rich in ancient Sri Lankan architecture. Kushtagala has derived from two Sinhala words 'Rash' and 'Stone'. There has lived a noble King in the area who has died from a rash. His statue has been sculptured on a stone to remember him. It is located near a bo tree and local people visit the place to worship that statue. Unlike the busyness of Matara town, you will find this place to be calm and peaceful which makes it ideal to spend a few hours with your family appreciating the surrounding nature.
